CAP Sunday

Christians Against Poverty

Sunday 8th January 2012

It’s almost 3 years now since 2009, when we launched Christians against Poverty at the Foundry. In reflecting and thinking about all that God has done, just in these past few months alone, I am amazed again by His Grace for the opportunities we have had in reaching out into desperate situations with the life changing message of the Gospel.

CAP offers a face to face comprehensive solution, to anybody in our community who is experiencing financial difficulty. CAP set up a debt management plan and the local church offer love and support. By doing this we seek to make a difference and bring positive changes to people’s futures.

Since we Launched CAP locally we have seen the following:

160 people have phoned the freephone number to get help

105 people have been visited and started the CAP process

20 clients have now become debt free

21 clients have made first time commitments to follow Jesus

40+ people (including children) who have been helped by CAP attend the Foundry regularly.

The work of CAP is a 21st century solution to helping the poor and honouring God by seeing his will outwork in our community. We are currently working to a 3 month diary, our next available appointment is in April 2012. This means there are lots of opportunities already this year to bring hope and share the Love of God with hurting people

If you were at the Foundry when I gave an update a couple of months ago I’m sure you were encouraged and blessed by hearing client’s testimonies. For those who missed it you can watch the video if you click on the below link.

Thank you for your prayers and support - all that you do that is making a difference in so many people’s lives.
