Our life is made up of the sum total of all our decisions. Because of that, many of us have regrets. Perhaps life hasn’t quite turned out as we expected. The good news of the gospel is that God has plans for us.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11).
God also has good works, that He dreamed up ‘in advance’ for each one of us to do (Ephesians 2:10).
But how do we find out what God wants for our lives? Psalm 37:23-24 helps us to see;
Finding God’s plan for our lives is more about steps than booming voices and gigantic leaps. As we ‘take steps’ forward, with God, we discover His will. – “The Lord makes firm the steps…”
Finding God’s plan for our lives is more about loving the planner than the plan. – “…of the one who delights in him…”
As we ‘delight in Him’, our lives become more about Him than us. It really then becomes about His will and not our will.
Psalm 34:7 says ‘delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart’.
In other words, the desires you have will be God’s desires. Pleasing Him and living out a his plan over our plan will be the goal of our lives.
