Advent is about waiting – but we don’t wait in vain! The Hope we have at Christmas, that Jesus the Saviour came to a stable and was born in obscurity, is a Hope that is certain. That same Jesus was there at the start as the son of God (see Genesis 1), came and lived amongst us, died and rose to life again, and will one day return as King. It’s a Hope that has a name and a Hope that won’t let us down, a Hope that doesn’t need to isolate, and a Hope that won’t disappoint.
This advent, God wants us to overflow with this Hope – as we trust in Him (Romans 15:13). So let our encouragement to you be to feed your Hope with the good news of Jesus. Fill your hearts and mind with the grandness of God. Fill your ears and your eyes with Jesus. Let Hope grow, let Hope ‘overflow’.
