No Comparison

Romans 8:18-25

Comparison either makes us feel BETTER than someone else, or WORSE than someone else, and neither is God’s best for our lives. By His grace, ‘I am what I am’ (1 Corinthians 15:9-10).

Because of His love for us, we have enough (Mark 1:9-11). What can compare to being loved infinitely and unconditionally? We are His ‘Beloved’; hold onto that. We don’t need to desire what someone else has.

And because of His love, we also have been given the power to change. His Spirit working in and through our lives every day is making us new (2 Corinthians 4:14-16). We don’t need to be stuck in a rut wanting to be better than we are – with God’s help we can go and be all that He has called us to be!

This week, when we are tempted to compare our lives, just remember we are His Beloved, unique, loved and treasured. No need to compare.

  • How might I have been caught in the comparison trap recently?
  • How can I accept that I am enough, and I have enough this week? What is ONE thing I can do to ensure I remember this?
  • How might I help others see their worth and value in Christ?
