2 Peter 1:1-9
In lockdown many of us have learnt new skills, taken up new hobbies, realised what’s important, and perhaps, what’s not! We’ve grown, added things to our lives, removed some old ways, and are firmly looking forward to the easing of restrictions. The same can be said for the follower of Jesus; we have been called to grow, to leave everything behind and embark on a journey called ’Sanctification’ – the process of becoming more like Jesus. Its a slow process, it takes time and effort, there are bumps along the way, but as we commit to it, Jesus will lead us out and change us by the power of His Spirit living in us – as Peter said ‘His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness’ (2 Peter 1:3). So as we leave lockdown, lets be determined to take the good with us and leave the rest behind; take the new disciplines, the new engagement, the new ways of life that are going to be life GIVING – God is with us and for us and has made it possible for you and I to grow, to change and be all that He has called us to be.
